WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (6-1) raced past visiting Purchase (1-4) for a 109-70 victory Nov. 22 at Wightman Pool.
The Pioneers were aided by two double winners. Freshman
Anthony Taboadela (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Hills) was the victor in both the 200 IM (2:02.31) and the 500 free (5:11.95), and junior
Gennaro Sirianni (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) took the highest score in both the one-meter (172.65) and the three-meter (177.82) dives.
Sophomore
Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) touched first in the 1,000 free (11:10.27), and classmate
Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) in the 100 fly (56.93).
Junior
Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) recorded a victory in the 50 free (23.44), and classmate
Donado Dervishi (Garfield, N.J./Garfield) won the 100 breast (1:05.6).
Senior
Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp) triumphed in the 100 back, swimming a time of 1:00.98.
The Pioneers are back in action Tuesday, Dec. 2, at Wightman Pool when Mount Saint Vincent comes to Wayne. Action begins at 6:00 p.m.
