Interview Request Policy
All requests for interviews with William Paterson University student-athletes and Athletics staff members must first be submitted to the William Paterson Office of Sports Information. This policy applies for both members of the working media, as well as for requests in regards to educational (class) projects. A time mutually convenient for both parties will be arranged by a member of the Sports Information staff.
It is requested that interview requests be submitted to the Sports Information staff at least 48 hours in advance, except for the case of post-event reaction for home events. Media members who wish to cover an Athletics home event should notify the Sports Information Office at least 24 hours in advance (72 hours for broadcasts). Interviews are not conducted on game days, with the exception of post-event reactions.
Photographers/VideographersÂ
William Paterson University encourages photographer coverage of sports events by the news media, WP students, faculty and staff.
Still and video photography from any area other than spectator seating requires approval from the William Paterson Sports Information Department. Typically, access is issued only to news photographers, videographers and University-contracted professional photographers insured by their employers against physical injury and other hazards.
Freelance, commercial and non-university amateur photographers are generally not permitted at athletics events. For freelance and professional photographers and videographers to be granted access, a request to the Sports Information Department must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the start of the athletic event. Access will be granted on a case-by-case basis. Requests initatiated at the site of the event will be denied, as prior approval is required.
