WAYNE, N.J. – Juniors
Owen Kane (West Milford, N.J./West Milford),
Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) and
Max Russell (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson Twp.), along with
Derek Gutowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxburry), were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Men's Swimming and Diving Team March 31.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming and Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Gutowski, a sport management major, won a pair of individual events while adding 14 top-three finishes throughout the season.
Kane secured three individual event victories and placed inside the top three 16 times while double majoring in history and secondary education.
Melli, who majors in biotechnology, captured 22 individual event wins during the season and logged 11 additional top-three finishes.
Russell recorded four individual even wins and placed inside the top three 19 times while double majoring in accounting and finance.
