HAMPTON, V.A. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team placed ninth out of nine teams, collecting 40 points on the opening day of the NJAC championships on Feb. 12.

TOP PERFORMERS:

• The Pioneers finished ninth the 200 medley relay with efforts by senior Nicky Byrd (Purchase, N.Y./Harrison), junior Zak Li (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley), junior Max Russell (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson Twp.), and junior Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional), clocking in at 1:43.93.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson returns to the Hampton Aquaplex on Friday, Feb. 13, for day two of the NJAC Championship. Session One begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the evening session at 5:30 p.m.
