NEWARK, N.J. - Montclair State (25-15) took a 4-0 lead after three innings en route to a 10-1 victory against William Paterson (23-19) in an elimination game of the 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Baseball Tournament May 4 at Newark's Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.

NEWARK, NJ - Fourth-seeded Rowan defeated fifth-seeded William Paterson, 14-6, in game six of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Baseball Tournament May 3 at Bears and Eagles Stadium in Newark, N.J..

The double-elimination tournament will continue Sunday, May 4. Rowan (30-10) will play top-seeded Kean (32-9) at 10:00 a.m., and William Paterson (23-18) will face second-seeded Montclair State (23-15) at 2:00 p.m.

WAYNE, N.J. – The fifth-seeded William Paterson baseball team (23-17, 10-8 NJAC) will take on fourth-seeded Rowan (29-10, 12-6 NJAC) when the 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament resumes Saturday, May 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Newark’s Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium. LITTLE FALLS, N.J. – Kean’s (28-14) single run in the top of the ninth inning proved to be the difference as the William Paterson softball team (22-20) saw its season come to an end with an 8-7 defeat in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament elimination game May 2 at Montclair State’s Softball Stadium.

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. – Two runs in the top of the fourth broke a 5-5 tie, giving William Paterson (23-17) a lead it would not relinquish in an 8-6 victory at Montclair State (23-15) during the first round of the 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Baseball Tournament May 1.

The Pioneers will next face Rowan, a 6-2 winner at The College of New Jersey, Saturday, May 3, at 6:00 p.m. at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium in Newark.

WAYNE, N.J. – The sixth-seeded William Paterson softball team (22-19, 8-10 NJAC) will face fifth-seeded Kean (28-13, 10-8 NJAC) in a 2008 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament elimination game Friday, May 2, at 11:00 a.m. at the Montclair State Softball Stadium. The winner will advance to play Saturday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m. against an opponent to be determined.

WAYNE, N.J. – Baseball sophomore outfielder Mike Guadango (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for May 5. 
 
Guadango batted .500 (6-for-12) last week at the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament, adding three runs, three RBI, a double and a stolen base. He was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI in an 8-6 win at Montclair State May 1, went 1-for-5 against Rowan May 3, and 2-for-3 with a double against Montclair State May 4. A first-team all-NJAC selection, Guadango was the conference leader in batting average (.438), runs (52), hits (74), RBI (57), doubles (16), total bases (120), hits/game (1.85), runs/game (1.30), and doubles/game (0.40); second in slugging percentage (.710) and RBI/game (1.43); tied for second in home runs (eight); fifth in on-base percentage (.497) and homers/game (0.20); and tied for 12th in triples (three) through games of April 30.
