Women's Basketball Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District Team

WAYNE, N.J. – Graduate student Megan Sears (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) and seniors Luna Kirby (Leola, Pa./Linden Hall School for Girls), Patty Walsh (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) and Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team March 24.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.

Sears appeared in all 28 games while making three starts as a speech language pathology major, averaging 6.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She recorded six double-digit scoring performances with a pair of double-doubles.  

Kirby, a management major, started 25 of 28 contests, posting a career-high 6.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. She reached double-digit points in seven outings.

Walsh, an all-conference honoree, started all 28 games, averaging 10.4 points, 6.5 boards and a team-best 1.9 blocks per tilt. The public relations major reached double figures in the scoring column in 14 contests while registering four double-doubles.

Wells, an all-America and all-region selection, was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Year following a standout senior campaign. While double majoring in history and secondary education, she averaged a team-high 17.6 points per tilt with 5.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. The Leonardo, N.J., native recorded double-digit points in 26 of 28 games while posting two double-doubles.
