WAYNE, N.J. – Senior
Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America Honorable Mention March 19.
She becomes the first all-American in program history since the 2013-14 campaign, when Floriana Borova '14 was named to the WBCA Honorable Mention.
The New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Year started all 27 games, averaging a team-high 17.2 points per tilt with 5.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. She recorded double-digit points in 25 of 27 games, including eight 20+ scoring performances and one 30+ scoring outing, while posting two double-doubles. She ranked second in the NJAC and first on the team in points per game, additionally finishing second in the conference in free-throw shooting (.814), fourth in field goal percentage (.403), tied for fifth in steals per game and tied for eighth in assists per contest.
