PITMAN, N.J. – William Paterson senior forward
Patty Walsh (Middletown, N.J./Middletown North) earned her second conference accolade of the season when she was named the Dec. 8 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
Walsh averaged 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 blocked shots, 2.0 steals and 10.5 points during a pair of WP wins last week. In a 65-60 victory Dec. 3 at Montclair State, she tallied a double-double with 14 points and a season-best 12 rebounds, adding four blocks and two steals. Walsh then posted seven points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a pair of steals during a 58-49 home triumph against Stockton Dec. 6.
Earlier this season, Walsh was named the Nov. 24 NJAC Player of the Week, while classmate
Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) was the Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 NJAC Player of the Week.
The Pioneers (7-0, 3-0 NJAC) return to action Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Rutgers-Newark at 6:00 p.m.
