Five Pioneers Earn Men’s Soccer All-NJAC Honors, Led by First-Team Selections Allen and Perez

Saling, Bartel and Brant-Sharp Also Acknowledged by League Office


2018 New Jersey Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Awards 

PITMAN, N.J. – William Paterson junior midfielder Cameron Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./Saint John Vianney) and senior back Zach Perez (Edison, N.J./Rutgers Prep) earned spots on the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Men's Soccer All-First Team, leading a list of five Pioneer honorees announced Oct. 30.
 
Junior forward/midfielder Jordan Saling (Haledon, N.J./Paramus Catholic) was a second-team honoree, while senior back Ryan Bartel (Emerson, N.J./Emerson) and junior forward Keysean Brant-Sharp (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick) were honorable-mention selections.
 
Cameron Allen (Old Bridge, N.J./Saint John Vianney): All-NJAC First Team
Allen was named to the All-NJAC First Team for the second straight year, starting in 18 of the Pioneers' 19 contests and pacing the team in goals (seven), assists (five, tied-eighth in league) and points (19). His three game-winning goals this fall are tied for the sixth-best total in the conference. During nine regular-season NJAC contests, he contributed three goals and two assists for eight points, including one game-winning strike.
 
Zach Perez (Edison, N.J./Rutgers Prep): All-NJAC First Team
A member of the 2016 All-NJAC Honorable Mention and the 2017 All-NJAC Second Team, Perez has collected two assists while starting 16 contests this fall on the back line, helping WP record four shutouts defensively. He started in seven conference matches this season, missing two due to injury.
 
Jordan Saling (Haledon, N.J./Paramus Catholic): All-NJAC Second Team
A first-year Pioneer after transferring to William Paterson, Saling has started all 19 matches and rates fifth on the team with 10 points (4 g, 2 a). During nine regular-season conference games, he contributed a goal and an assist.
 
Ryan Bartel (Emerson, N.J./Emerson): All-NJAC Honorable Mention
Bartel earned his first all-NJAC accolade after starting 18 of 19 matches for WP this fall, helping the Pioneers register four shutouts defensively. A member of the starting lineup during all nine regular-season league contests, he assisted William Paterson in recording two blank sheets in conference play.
 
Keysean Brant-Sharp (East Brunswick, N.J./East Brunswick): All-NJAC Honorable Mention
Named to the 2016 All-NJAC Honorable Mention and the 2017 All-NJAC Second Team, Brant-Sharp rates third for WP this season with 12 points (4 g, 4 a), starting 14 of his 18 appearances. He contributed one assist while starting eight of nine league contests.
