WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's soccer team (10-8-3, 4-3-2 NJAC) will take on Juniata (8-5-7, 2-3-4 Landmark) in the semifinals of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament Nov. 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Rutgers-Newark.

Game #1: Franciscan vs. Rutgers-Newark, 11:00 a.m.
Game #2: Juniata vs. William Paterson, 2:00 p.m.
Finals – (Sunday, Nov. 23; Newark, N.J.)

  • Tickets are CASH ONLY and prices are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for seniors (65+). Tickets are free for children under 12 years of age.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
  • The winner of the semifinal matchup between William Paterson and Juniata will square off against the winner of the other semifinal between Franciscan and host Rutgers-Newark, Sunday, Nov. 22, at 12:00 p.m. in the ECAC Championship.
     
WP IN THE ECAC TOURNAMENT
  • The Pioneers are making their 19th appearance in the ECAC Tournament (1972, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981, 1982, 1984, 1991, 1995, 2002, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2024, 2025) and have secured the title four times (1974, 1977, 1984, 2008).
  • The ECAC Tournament was played in a regional format prior to 2016.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
  • William Paterson is 10-8-3 on the season with a 4-3-2 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) record.
  • The Pioneers bested Maritime, 4-1, in the opening round of the ECAC Tournament Nov. 15 before pulling off a 3-2 come-from-behind win in double overtime at FDU-Florham the following day.
  • Five different Pioneers have found the back of the net in tournament play, with junior Matty Escobar (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) and sophomore Davide Zamuner (Piverone, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Statale A. Gramsci) contributing two goals apiece. Zamuner was responsible for the game-winning goal in the victory over the Devils.
  • Escobar sits atop the team in points (18) and goals (7) while ranking tied for first in assists (4).
  • Senior goalkeeper Luca Misko (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan) has started all 18 games this season, posting an .808 save percentage, 1.05 goals-against average, 80 saves and five shutouts. He made a combined 11 stops in the two ECAC Tournament wins.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
  • Juniata owns an 8-5-7 overall record and 2-3-4 mark in Landmark Conference action.
  • The Eagles took a two-goal lead over McDaniel in the ECAC Tournament quarterfinals before earning the 2-1 road win.
  • Junior Jayden Gaynor leads the team with six goals, adding two assists.
  • Maxwell Mattioni has started 19 of the 20 games in goal this season, logging an .821 save percentage, 0.64 goals-against average, 55 saves and nine clean sheets.
 
  SCOUTING THE BARONS
  • Franciscan posted an 11-9-2 record and 7-2-2 mark in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
  • The Barons trekked to Virginia Beach, Va., for the ECAC Tournament quarterfinals, defeating Virginia Wesleyan, 4-1.
  • Senior Lucas Cross scored once versus Virginia Wesleyan and is one of two Barons who posted double-digit goals, finishing with 14 while adding five assists for a team-best 33 points.
  • Freshman Andrew Goduti recorded a score in the quarterfinals and has posted 10 goals during his rookie campaign.
  • Junior goalkeeper Aiden Miller has started all 22 games in goal, compiling a .719 save percentage, 1.28 goals-against average, 69 saves and five shutouts.  
 
SCOUTING THE SCARLET RAIDERS
  • Rutgers-Newark is 10-8-2 on the year and played to a 3-5-1 mark in the NJAC.
  • The Scarlet Raiders topped Goucher, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Tournament.
  • Junior Erick Cortes tallied an assist and found the back of the net once against Goucher, giving him a team-best 15 goals on the season.
  • Sophomore Ilan Golden made the start in goal versus the Gophers and recorded his first clean sheet in seven appearances.
