Men’s Swimming & Diving Places Seventh at Metropolitan Championships

Pioneers Complete Final Day of Competition

Senior Troy Buglio competed in the 1,650 free and the 400 free relay for the Pioneers.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - William Paterson's men's swimming & diving team finished seventh of 11 Division III teams at the Metropolitan Championships Feb 16, at Rutgers University. 

In the 1,650 free, senior Troy Buglio (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East) touched 15th (17:46.13), freshman Jeremy Oiler (Hamilton, N.J./Nottingham) finished 16th (17:49.91), senior Corey Matthews (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) took 19th (18:09.18) and sophomore Greg Geiss (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) placed 24th (19:33.92).

Junior Evan Marine (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Twp.) touched eighth in the 200 back C Final with a time of 2:07.62.

Freshman Nick Cowie (Newton, N.J./Newton) finished seventh in the 200 fly C Final in 2:07.92. 

The team of Buglio, junior Bobby Boyton (Sewell, N.J./Clearview Regional), sophomore Nicolai Robinson (Matawan, N.J./Old Bridge) and sophomore Eric Tracey (Newton, N.J./Kittatinny Regional) posted a time of 3:20.22 to touch fifth in the 400 free relay B Final.
