WHITE HAVEN, PA. – The William Paterson men's golf team (1-0) placed sixth of six teams (331, +43) at the Misericordia Invitational April 18.
Junior
Matt Scozzari (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon) led the Pioneers with a seven-over 79 at the par-72 Mount Laurel Golf Course, finishing in a tie for eighth place individually. Classmate
Shane Edwards (Newton, N.J./Newton) was just one shot behind Scozzari (80, +8, tied-11th), followed by juniors
Jim Bakelaar (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) and
Matt Deering (Howell, N.J./St. John Vianney), who both carded an 86 (+14, tied-20th). Junior
Paul Link (Wayne, N.J./Hazleton, Pa.) posted a 91 (+19) to tie for 27th.
FDU-Florham took the top team spot with a 308 (+20), and the Devils' John Cruz was the medalist with a two-over-par 74.
William Paterson will play at the Susquehanna Invitational Thursday, April 21, at 1:00 p.m.
