Golf Posts Third-Place Finish at Cougar Invitational

Results 

KENILWORTH, N.J. – The William Paterson golf team tallied a season-low score of 324 to finish third at the six-team Kean Cougar Invitational Sept. 25.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Gavin Deeken (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) led the Pioneers with a season-low 78 (+7, tied-seventh), and freshman Adam Avery (Butler, N.J./Butler) matched his career best with a 79 (+8, tied-ninth).
  • Senior Nicholas Petti (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) had a season-best round of 82 (+11, tied-15th), senior Rob Egan (Chester, N.Y./Saint Joseph Regional) scored an 85 (+14, tied-21st), and senior Luke Fournier (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) finished with a score of 121 (+50, 38th).
  • Competing as individuals, sophomore Luke Dube (Bethel, Conn./Joel Barlow) scored an 86 (+15, tied-25th) and senior Brandon Bang (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) had a 108 (+37, 37th).
  • Kean won the team (297) and individual (Sean Dunn, 71) titles at the par-71, 6,273-yard Galloping Hill Golf Course.

  • William Paterson will participate in the Marywood Tournament Saturday, Oct. 4, at Glenmaura Golf Course at 11:45 a.m.
