WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson golf team placed fourth at its own Pioneer Spring Invitational April 2 at the par-70, 6,322-yard Preakness Valley Golf Course-West.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior Gavin Deeken (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) paced the Pioneers with a 10-over 80 to tie for 12th individually.
• Senior Nicholas Petti (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) shot an 85 (+15, tied-18th), while sophomore Luke Dube (Bethel, Conn./Joel Barlow) had an 86 (+16, 21st).
• Freshman Adam Avery (Butler, N.J./Butler) and junior Rob Egan (Chester, N.Y./Saint Joseph Regional) each tallied rounds of 88 (+18, tied-24th).
• William Paterson posted a team total of 339 (+59). Rutgers-Camden (304, +24) was the top finisher at the four-team event, and Delaware Valley's Jack Brennan was the individual medalist (71, +1).
• A number of Pioneers competed as individuals at the event.
• Junior Brendan Ross (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) shot 90 (+20, 27th), junior Sean Nugent (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) had a 94 (+24, 28th), junior Colin Harrington (New City, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) carded a 96 (+26, 29th), and junior Tyler Polachek (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.) posted a 97 (+27, 30th).
• Senior Brandon Bang (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) and graduate student Emily Feola (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) finished with rounds of 99 (+29, tied-31st), senior Chris Cugliari (Nutley, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) and sophomore Liam Wozniak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn) registered scores of 104 (+34, tied-34th), and senior Michael Romanelli (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) had a 106 (+36, 36th).
