DANIELSVILLE, PA. – The newly-formed William Paterson men's golf team opened its 2011 season with a 10th-place finish (340, +52) at the Moravian Spring Invitational March 31. Muhlenberg (321, +33) placed first of the 19 teams competing at the 6,437-yard, par-72 Woodstone Country Club.
Taking to the links for the first time since 1989, William Paterson was led by junior
Matt Scozzari (Kinnelon, N.J./Kinnelon), who finished tied for eighth individually with an 80 (+8), including a one-over 37 on the front nine. Junior
Jim Bakelaar (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) shot 86 (41-45, +14) to tie for 45th individually.

Matt Deering (Howell, N.J./St. John Vianney) shot a 43-44 for an 87 (+15, tied-52nd), and classmate
Shane Edwards (Newton, N.J./Newton) posted a 46-41=87 (+15, tied-52nd). Junior
Paul Link (Wayne, N.J./Hazleton, Pa.) rounded out the group with a 101 (53-58, +29, tied-90th).
Dan Drazen of Rutgers-Camden shot a one-over-par 73 to take individual medalist honors.
William Paterson will compete against Centenary Friday, April 8, at High Bridge Hills Golf Course in High Bridge, N.J.
