PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team was seventh of 12 Division III schools after the first day of competition at the Metropolitan Championships Feb. 18 in Piscataway, N.J.
Senior
Andrew Scimeca (Lincoln Park, N.J./Morris County Tech) placed eighth in the one-meter dive final (366.20), while junior
Brian Birkbeck (Absecon, N.J./Holy Spirit) touched eighth in the 500 free C Final (5:03.90).
The 400 medley relay team of sophomore
Tyler Grady (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional), sophomore
Mazen Yousef (Toms River, N.J./Toms River East), junior
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) and Birkbeck was second in the B Final (3:38.01).
Sophomore
Sebastian Schrils (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional), senior
Alex Burdi (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.), Lim and Birkbeck finished sixth in the 200 free relay B Final (1:31.10).
William Paterson will continue competition at the Metropolitan Championship Feb. 19.
