WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (5-1) won every event, defeating Division I foe NJIT (1-3) 98-71 Dec. 2 at Wightman Pool.
Four Pioneers were double winners against the Highlanders. Senior
Michael O'Shea (Edgewater, N.J./Leonia) finished first in the one-meter (206.7) and three-meter (195.90) dives, while classmate
David Caputo (Staten Island, N.Y./Curtis) touched first in the 500 (5:21.4) and 1,000 (10:54.5) frees. Junior
Kirk Smith (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) finished first in the 200 IM (2:16.81) and 200 breast (2:34.5), and classmate
Voyta Karas (Brno, Czech Republic) won the 100 (49.49) and 200 (1:53.1) frees. Sophomore
Evan Seftel (Montville, N.J./Montville) placed first in the 50 free (22.74), junior
Stefan Rosales (Rahway, N.J./St. Joseph's-Metuchen) was victorious in the 200 back (2:13.7), and sophomore
Jeremy Lim (Clifton, N.J./Clifton) won the 200 fly (2:23.41).
William Paterson will celebrate Parents Appreciation Day Saturday, Dec. 6, when the Pioneers host Drew at 1:00 p.m.
