WAYNE, N.J. – Tennis freshman Sonja Pedersen (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week Sept. 7.

Pedersen began her collegiate career as a double winner against John Jay Sept. 5, earning a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Alla Polisskaya at third singles, and an 8-3 win with teammate Lisa Varacallo (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe Twp.) at first doubles against Ashley Marrero and Seidron Snipe.
