WAYNE, N.J. – Sophomore softball infielder Rachel Wasilak (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) was named the May 11 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Wasilak hit .368 (7-19) during five NCAA Tournament games, posting six RBI and two runs scored while playing outstanding defense at shortstop, compiling a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage (10 putouts, 21 assists). She went 2-for-4, scored a run and stole a base during a 9-2 victory May 9 against Farmingdale State, and was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in a 9-1 win May 9 against Staten Island. In the Union Regional championship game May 10 at Kean, she finished 3-for-5 with three runs-batted-in.
