WAYNE, N.J. – Junior women’s swimmer Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) was selected as the Feb. 22 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Blazevska turned in an excellent effort at the Metropolitan Conference Championships Feb. 19-21. She was third in the 100 (1:06.98) and 200 (2:24.00) breaststroke A Finals, and placed fourth in the 400 IM A Final (4:42.04) with a school-record time.
She also was a part of the Pioneers’ 200 medley relay (eighth in A Final, 1:55.08), 200 free relay (second in B Final, 1:45.00), 400 medley relay (third in B Final, 4:10.62) and 400 free relay (13th place, 3:53.83) teams.
