WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball junior guard Sandy Burgos (Fort Lee, N.J./Fort Lee) was named the Nov. 18 William Paterson Pioneer of the Week.
Burgos was 14-for-20 (.700) from the field, 4-for-6 (.667) from three-point range and 9-for-10 (.900) from the charity stripe for a career-best 41 points during a 96-77 season-opening victory against FDU-Florham Nov. 15. He was just six points shy of matching the WP single-game scoring record (47, Tommie Patterson, vs. Medgar Evers, 11/23/91).
