WAYNE, N.J. – Junior baseball outfielder Ryan Gibbons (Glen Rock, N.J./Glen Rock) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for April 30.
Gibbons posted a .421 (8-19) batting average in five games, adding three doubles, a home run, three walks, five RBI, seven runs scored, a slugging percentage of .737 and an on-base percentage of .500. He laced an inside-the-park home run during a 6-2 win at Rutgers-Newark April 27, and was 3-for-5 and scored three times during a 14-4 win April 24 against New Paltz. Gibbons needs one to tie the WP single-season doubles record of 24.
