WAYNE, N.J. – Men’s basketball senior guard Joseph Ellis (Newark, N.J./Newark Science) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week Jan. 11.

Ellis averaged 14.0 points and 2.0 steals during a 2-0 week for William Paterson.  He scored a game-high 15 points, including 11-for-11 shooting at the line, during a 58-46 win against Manhattanville Jan. 6, and was a part of a defensive effort that held the Valiants to 0-for-15 shooting from the field during the first half.  Ellis led the Pioneers with 13 points and three steals during a 56-41 victory at Kean Jan. 9.  The 41 points were the fewest surrendered by the WP defense this season.
