KENILWORTH, N.J. – The William Paterson golf team secured a fourth-place finish April 17 at the Kean Cougar Invitational.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Freshman Adam Avery (Butler, N.J./Butler) paced the Pioneers with an eight-over 79 to finish tied for ninth individually.
• Sophomore Luke Dube (Bethel, Conn./Joel Barlow) was close behind with a career-low 80 (+9, 15th).
• Senior Nicholas Petti (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) shot an 85 (+14, tied-22nd), junior Rob Egan (Chester, N.Y./Saint Joseph Regional) carded an 88 (+17, 27th), and senior Brendan Ross (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional) contributed a round of 92 (+21, tied-28th).
• WP recorded a total of 332 (+48) at the six-team event. Host Kean took the team (289, +5) and individual (Patrick Murray, 71, even) titles at the par-71, 6,273-yard Galloping Hill Golf Course.

 
COMING UP:

• William Paterson will finish its spring schedule Wednesday, April 22, at the Conquer the Island Tournament at 12:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
