2025-26 WP Academic Awards Luncheon

WP Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Recognizes 138 Students for Academic Achievements

3/23/2026 2:40:00 PM

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation acknowledged its 138 students who maintained a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average while completing a minimum of three semesters at WP, hosting a reception March 24 on campus.

The Pioneers recognized 116 intercollegiate athletics student-athletes, and 21 members of club sports, and one student who participated with both intercollegiate and club teams.

WP also inducted its 13th class into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national intercollegiate student-athlete honor society for juniors and seniors who have a minimum 3.500 GPA (one season of participation executed; plus four semesters completed at WP or year in residence completed for transfers). Thirty-six new inductees joined 18 returning Pioneers as Chi Alpha Sigma members.

Additionally, women's volleyball senior Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) and men's soccer senior Daniel Janosek (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) addressed their fellow students about their experiences as Pioneers.

The WP volleyball team was the winner of the award for the highest GPA for the combined Spring 2025 and Fall 2025 semesters with a 3.687.
