WAYNE, N.J. – Juniors
Hailey Backo (Wallington, N.J./Wallington) and
Lilah Guthy (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg), and senior
Lauren Hutchison (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield), were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Softball Team May 27.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Backo, a marketing major who was the only Pioneer to start in all 34 games, compiled a .261 batting average with 23 hits, six doubles, a home run, 16 runs scored and 11 RBI.
Guthy posted a .316 average at the plate with 30 hits, 10 doubles, 14 RBI and 10 runs scored in 34 contests. The physical education major also fanned 31 batters in 103.2 innings of work inside the circle.
Hutchison recorded a team-high .333 batting average and .432 slugging percentage with 27 hits, six doubles, a triple, 11 runs scored and 11 RBI in 33 games. As an environmental science major, she logged nine multi-hit performances.
