WAYNE, N.J. – Seniors
Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) and
Jason Peralta (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) along with sophomores
Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) and
Max Russell (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Swimming and Diving Academic All-District Team April 1.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's Swimming & Diving Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a key contributor with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Apito, a sport management major, logged 11 top-five finishes in individual events during his senior campaign.
Peralta was a key contributor for the Pioneers, finishing inside the top five in five individual events.
Melli, a biotechnology major, put together a sophomore season in which he posted 18 top-five finishes in individual events.
Russell, who double majors in accounting and finance, finished inside the top five in nine individual events.
