HAMPTON, V.A. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team finished ninth out of nine teams, tallying 40 points on the opening day of the NJAC championships on Feb. 13.
TOP PERFORMERS:

• The Pioneers finished ninth in the 800 free relay with efforts by sophomore Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional), senior Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech), senior Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), and freshman Derek Gutowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxburry), clocking in with a time of 8:07.18.

UP NEXT:

• William Paterson returns to the Hampton Aquaplex on Friday, Feb. 14, for day two of the NJAC Championship. Session One begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the evening session at 5:30 p.m.
