Men's Swimming and Diving Emerges Victorious Over FIT, 68-38

WAYNE, N.J. - The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (12-2) emerged victorious over Fashion Institute of Technology, 68-38, on Feb. 1 at Wightman Pool.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Sophomore Justin Melli (Erma, N.J./Lower Cape May Regional) was victorious in the 1000 free (11:12.15).
  • Senior Ricardo Ordinola (Lodi, N.J./Passaic County Tech) touched the wall first in the 200 free (2:02.30).
  • Freshman Mario Pontidis (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex) posted a first-place finish in the 50 free (23.04).
  • Freshman Derek Gutowski (Succasunna, N.J./Roxburry) triumphed in the 200 IM (2:24.11).
  • WP won the 200 medley relay, with efforts by senior Jason Peralta (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack), senior Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany), Freshman Liam Wozniak (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn), and Ordinola, finishing with a time of 2:02.19.
