PITMAN, N.J. – Freshman
Lilah Guthy (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) of the William Paterson softball team was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie Pitcher of the Week March 20.
Guthy made two starts inside the circle while posting a 2-0 record with seven strikeouts and one earned run in seven innings of work.
In a 10-2 March 13 victory over Brockport, the East Stroudsburg, Pa., native made her first collegiate start and punched out a season-best four batters. She allowed just two hits in the win with one unearned run.
She then picked up her second win of the week after throwing a season-high four innings with three strikeouts and one earned run during a 6-2 victory against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on March 16.
Guthy and the Pioneers return to action Tuesday, March 21, for a road doubleheader at Scranton in Scranton, Pa., with first pitch slated for 3:00 p.m. Â
