Men’s Swimming & Diving Win Hard-Fought Road Meet at Western Connecticut State, 106-95

DANBURY, CONN. – The William Paterson men's swimming and diving team (5-3) traveled to Western Connecticut State (3-3-1) and earned a hard-fought road meet victory as the Pioneers downed the Colonials, 106-95 on January 21.

TOP PERFORMERS:
  • Freshman Shane Apito (Lake Hiawatha, N.J./Parsippany) led the way for WP with wins in the 100 fly (59.60) and the 200 free (2:01.48). Apito also placed second for William Paterson in the 500 free with a time of 5:41.37.
  • Sophomore Andrew Colligan (Andover, N.J./Sussex County Tech) secured a first place for the Pioneers in the 50 free with a time of 25.12. Colligan also earned a personal-best time in the 100 free with a time of 53.88, while placing second in the event.
  • Senior Thomas Haughey (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) also contributed to the WP total, touching the wall second in the 100 back (1:10.30) and the 1000 free (12:38.46).

  • William Paterson will celebrate its senior day meet as they host Bard Saturday, January 22, at 1:00 p.m.
