WAYNE, N.J. – Casey Schermick has joined the William Paterson intercollegiate Athletics staff as the Sports Information Director, effective Aug. 16.
 
Schermick comes to William Paterson after spending two years at Manhattanville College as the Assistant Sports Information Director. During his time with the Valiants, Schermick was responsible for promoting the 20 Valiant athletic teams on the department's website, while serving as the primary contact for six sports. He also was instrumental in rebranding the department's social media presence, helping to vastly increase fan engagement across all platforms.
 
Along with his role in the athletic department, Schermick also earned his master's degree in sports business management, graduating from the School of Business in May.
 
Prior to Manhattanville, Schermick was a 2015 graduate of DeSales University, earning bachelor's degrees in sport management as well as marketing. While attending DeSales, he was a four-year member and two-time captain of the school's varsity golf team, appearing in a school-record 43 tournaments during his career.
 
Schermick replaces Heather Brocious, who served as William Paterson's Sports Information Director for 11 years before assuming the role of Director of Athletic Communications and Compliance this summer.
