Vera Blazevska (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Valley) and men's basketball senior forward
Fredrik Hagbarth (Stockholm, Sweden/Kungsholmens Gymnasium) garnered spots on the 2016-17 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Academic First Team, leading a list of 48 WP honorees.

Allison Podmajersky (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) and baseball senior outfielder
Mike Rowe (Cedar Grove, N.J./Cedar Grove) were second-team selections, while 44 other Pioneers received honorable-mention laurels.
Blazevska, a member of the 2016-17 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team Honorable Mention, was named the recipient of William Paterson's Roland Watts Memorial Award in April, given to a student-athlete who has demonstrated outstanding dedication and effort in his or her sport. The 2017 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Swimmer of the Year, she broke her own WP records in both the 400 IM (4:45.59) and 200 breast (2:21.89) while competing at the 2017 Metropolitan Championships. She also garnered the Metropolitan Collegiate Swimming and Diving Conference's Dick Krempecki Outstanding Senior Award, given annually to an individual who has contributed the most to the Metropolitan Conference and the sport of swimming.
Blazevska also holds school records in the 50 breast (30.70, 2/21/15), 100 breast (1:06.07, 2/21/15), 100 IM (1:03.05, 2/13/16) and 200 IM (2:15.37, 12/5/15). The 2014 NJAC Co-Rookie of the Year and 2016 NJAC Co-Women's Swimmer of the Year, she was a first-team all-conference selection in the 100 breast (2016), 200 breast (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) and 400 IM (2015, 2016), and a second-team all-league honoree in the 100 breast (2015, 2017) and 400 IM (2017).
Selected to the 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 2 Women's At-Large First Team, Blazevska was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, and has been a Dean's List student every semester at WP. She was selected to the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Metropolitan Conference All-Academic Teams and Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mentions, and graduated magna cum laude in May with a bachelor's degree in communication disorders. Additionally, Blazevska has helped WP earn the CSCAA Scholar All-America team award each of the last eight semesters.

was named the winner of the WP Senior Scholar-Athlete Award, given to the graduating senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA. A Dean's List student every semester at WP while competing in 86 career games on the hardwood, he was named to the 2015-16 Academic All-NJAC Second Team and the 2014-15 Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mention. A member of the Honors College, Hagbarth was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society. He graduated summa cum laude in May with a double major in finance and global studies.
The 2017 NJAC Co-Pitcher of the Year and a first-team all-conference and National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) all-East Region pick, Podmajersky also was an honorable-mention all-ECAC Metro Region selection this spring. She compiled an 11-8 record, 1.70 ERA, seven shutouts (20th in Division III) and 95 strikeouts (second in NJAC) in 123.1 innings pitched, starting 20 of 23 appearances as a senior while tossing no-hitters against DeSales (8-0 in five innings, April 20) and New Jersey City (7-0, April 29).
Podmajersky was named to the 2015 NFCA All-East and All-NJAC First Teams, the 2016 All-NJAC Second Team and the 2015 and 2016 All-ECAC Teams. She was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, was a 2014 NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete, and a Spring 2014, Fall 2014, Spring 2016 and Fall 2016 Dean's List student. Named to the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mentions, she is majoring in integrated math and science.
Rowe fought through injuries to start 25 games this spring, batting .250 with five sacrifice bunts, four sac flies, four doubles, 16 runs scored and 13 RBI. A Dean's List student every semester, he was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the national student-athlete honor society, and was named to the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Academic All-NJAC Honorable Mentions. Rowe graduated summa cum laude in May with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
To be eligible for the squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior who has competed in a conference-sponsored sport while achieving a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.20. First and second-team selections were made by each of the league's 10 full-member institutions.
