JERSEY CITY, N.J. – William Paterson senior designated hitter Trevor Haughney (Old Bridge, N.J./Old Bridge) was named to the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III All-State Third Team, and freshman outfielder Mike Abate (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) and freshman catcher Brady Pevny (West Milford, N.J./West Milford) earned spots on the All-Rookie Team.

A member of the 2014 All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) and the D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Teams, Haughney led WP with a .398 batting average (second in NJAC), 27 RBI (tied-10th in league), .484 slugging percentage (seventh in conference) and .473 on-base percentage (third in NJAC), adding 19 runs scored and seven doubles. A starter in 34 contests, Haughney also had two triples (tied-eighth in league) and a team-best 17 walks (tied-ninth in conference), and rated among the NJAC leaders in hits/game (third, 1.50), triples/game (seventh, 0.06), RBI/game (tied-seventh, 0.79) and walks/game (tied-ninth, 0.50).

Abate started in all 36 of his appearances as a first-year Pioneer, leading the team with 17 stolen bases (tied-third in league). He recorded 32 hits, 22 runs scored and 12 RBI, with two doubles and one triple.

A starter in 23 of his 27 appearances, Pevny collected 19 hits, including one double, while driving in seven runs and scoring seven times.  
William Paterson finished its season with a 14-21-1 overall record and a 7-10-1 mark in conference play, advancing to the third round of the NJAC Tournament.
