WAYNE, N.J. – William Paterson freshman
Frankie Colasante (Paramus, N.J./Paramus) was tabbed as the April 24 New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association (NJCBA) Division II/III Rookie Pitcher of the Week.
Previously garnering the same award on April 11, Colasante was 1-0 with a save and 0.00 ERA in two appearances, not allowing an earned run in 6.1 innings. He tossed the final 2.2 hitless innings of a 5-2 victory April 15 against The College of New Jersey, striking out one Lion, and he pitched the last 3.2 innings to get the win during a 5-3 victory April 20 against New Jersey City, scattering two hits and registering a strikeout.
Colasante also has been previously honored as the April 8 and April 22 New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie Pitcher of the Week. Earlier this season, freshman designated hitter
Jimmy Kenny (Fairfield, N.J./West Essex) were named the March 20 NJCBA Rookie of the Week.
William Paterson (22-11, 9-5 NJAC) will play at Montclair State Thursday, April 25, at 3:30 p.m.
