William Paterson is 2-4 overall and 0-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) following a 55-34 loss against Brockport (2-3, 1-1 NJAC) Oct. 12.
Senior quarterback
Ryan Gresik (Newton, N.J./Newton), a member of the 2012 All-NJAC Team Honorable Mention, is 151-for-237 for 1,814 yards (302.3 yards/game; first in league, 12th in Division III), completing 13 touchdown passes to seven different teammates while running for a pair of scores himself. His 307.0 yards of total offense per game rate third in the conference and 26th nationally, while his 25.17 completions per game rank 20th in Division III. The Sept. 8 and Sept. 29 NJAC Offensive Player of the Week, he is WP's career leader in completions (517), attempts (868), yardage (5,883) and touchdowns (36).
Sophomore
Matt Deiana (Somers, N.Y./Somers) paces the ground game with 44 carries for 214 yards and a touchdown.
Senior wide receiver
Mick Paye (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) is the Pioneers' leader in receptions (30) and yardage (490; 81.7 per game, third in NJAC), finding the end zone three times. Senior wide receiver/punter
Julian Frazier (Plainfield, N.J./North Plainfield) has hauled in 21 passes for 232 yards and two scores, while senior tight end
Brian Winfield (Newton, N.J./Newton) has caught 23 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown (5.8 receptions/game, seventh in league).
Senior linebacker
David Zurla (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) leads the Pioneers with 58 tackles (25 solo, 5.0 TFL) and 3.0 sacks. He ranks third in the NJAC with 9.7 stops per contest. Junior linebacker

William Paterson returned five offensive starters and four defensive starters from a 2012 team that finished 5-5 overall and 2-5 in NJAC play. The Pioneers, who welcomed back 49 letterwinners and two all-conference selections, were predicted to finish sixth in the 2013 NJAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
