BROCKPORT, N.Y. – William Paterson (2-3, 0-3 NJAC) got to within a touchdown, but host Brockport (4-2, 2-2 NJAC) was able to pull away from the Pioneers for a 35-14 victory Oct. 6.
Down 21-7 late in the first half, a potential scoring drive was thwarted when the Golden Eagles intercepted junior quarterback
Ryan Gresik (Newton, N.J./Newton) on the goal line. WP opened the third quarter with the ball, and a 43-yard Gresik-to-
Brian Winfield (Newton, N.J./Newton) pass set up a one-yard
Joseph Cordato (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) touchdown reception. Sophomore
Robert Sinegra's (Wharton, N.J./Morris Knolls) extra point made it a 21-14 score with 13:03 remaining in the period.
After forcing a three-and-out, Sinegra's 29-yard field goal attempt was blocked. Two drives later, Brockport took a two-touchdown lead thanks to a two-yard run by Shireem Cobb, making it a 28-14 game with 16 seconds left in the third. A one-yard Tyrone Nichols TD finished the scoring with 3:27 remaining in the contest.
The Golden Eagles found the end zone during the first possession of the game, a one-yard run by Nichols. The two teams traded punts until Brockport quarterback Joe Scibilia scrambled for a 16-yard score with 51 seconds to play in the first quarter. Scibilia made it a 21-0 lead when he found Eric Malave for an eight-yard reception at the 10:30 mark of the second quarter.
A 26-yard completion by Gresik to junior
Mick Paye (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) allowed senior tailback
Dawys German (North Arlington, N.J./North Arlington) to put the Pioneers on the board with a one-yard run with 3:30 remaining in the first half.
Gresik was 21-for-40 for 232 yards, an interception and a touchdown. German carried 21 times for 41 yards, and Cordato caught five passes for 41 yards and a score. Paye hauled in four passes for 51 yards, and Winfield gained 55 yards on two receptions.
Sophomore linebacker

Stephen Bovo, Jr. (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) collected eight tackles. Junior cornerback
Andre Snead (Atlantic City, N.J./Atlantic City) added an interception to his five stops.
