MESA, Ariz. – William Paterson (6-5) used 17 hits, including six for extra bases, to cruise to a 13-2 victory against Southern Maine (0-1) March 20 at the Greater Phoenix Invitational.
The Huskies scored a run in the bottom of the first, but the Pioneers answered with nine straight scores to take control of the game. William Paterson scored three times in the second, tacked on four runs in the fourth, and two more in the sixth. Freshman
Scott Fischer's (Woodcliff Lake, N.J./Pascack Hills) first career home run helped the Pioneers finish the scoring with a four-run effort in the eighth.
