WAYNE, N.J. – Women’s basketball junior forward Asia Johnson (Wildwood, N.J./Wildwood) was named William Paterson’s Pioneer of the Week for Feb. 18.
 
Johnson averaged 13.5 points, 12.0 rebounds and 9.0 blocks per game in a pair of wins. The junior forward had eight points, 15 rebounds and 14 blocked shots in a 68-56 win against Montclair State Feb. 13. Her 14 blocked shots tied for the third-highest single-game total in Division III history, and tied for the eighth-highest total in NCAA women’s basketball history, and she also became the Pioneers’ career blocked shots leader in the game against the Red Hawks. Now WP’s career (124), single-season (81, 2007-08) and single-game blocked shots leader, Johnson posted 19 points, nine rebounds, four steals and four blocks in a 71-59 victory at New Jersey City Feb. 16.
