WAYNE, N.J. – Senior women’s basketball forward April Smith (Barnegat, N.J./Southern Regional) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for March 5.

Smith averaged 20.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in a pair of games.  She had a game-best 23 points and four blocked shots, adding a team-high nine rebounds, during a 79-44 win against Salve Regina in the NCAA Tournament first round March 2.  Smith then paced WP with 17 points, adding 12 rebounds, at King’s in the NCAA Tournament second round March 3.
