WAYNE, N.J. – Senior tennis player Delnaz Shalforoosh (Haworth, N.J./Northern Valley Regional-Demarest) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week for Sept. 6.

Shalforoosh registered two victories, helping the Pioneers earn an 8-1 season-opening team win against John Jay Sept. 1. She was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at third singles, and an 8-2 winner with Mary Skretkowicz (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) at first doubles, against the Bloodhounds.
