WAYNE, N.J. – Football sophomore free safety Stephen Bovo, Jr. (Dunellen, N.J./Dunellen) was named the William Paterson Pioneer of the Week Oct. 5.

Bovo intercepted a pair of passes, returning one for a touchdown, while making three tackles at Montclair State Oct. 3.  On the first play of the fourth quarter, with the Red Hawks facing second-and-goal from the Pioneers’ six-yard line, Bovo picked off a Tom Fischer pass in the end zone.  He later came up with his second interception of the quarter, racing 29 yards up the left sideline for a touchdown. Ryan Brzycki’s (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) extra point gave the Pioneers their first lead of the night, 17-16, with 10:19 remaining.
