WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson baseball team (9-14, 3-3 NJAC) dropped a non-conference game, 13-1, to Drew (16-9, 7-6 Landmark) April 7 at Jeff Albies Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Rangers struck first with a run in the opening frame to go ahead, 1-0.
• Two singles and a walk loaded the bases for the Pioneers in the bottom of the first before junior Ty Kobylakiewicz (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) grounded out to third, allowing the tying run to cross.
• Drew answered with four runs in the second to retake the lead, 5-1.
• The Rangers extended their advantage to nine (10-1) with a run in the third and four in the fourth.
• Drew tacked on two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh before securing the 13-1 win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Junior Devin Daproza (Englewood, N.J./Leonia) batted 2-for-5 with a run scored.

• William Paterson will welcome Rutgers-Newark to Jeff Albies Field Thursday, April 9, for a 3:30 p.m. conference game.
