Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) and junior
Jada Jacobs (Mount Laurel, N.J./Medford Tech) collected New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Women's Basketball weekly honors Feb. 17.
Wells earned her third NJAC Player of the Week nod this season, while Jacobs received Defensive Player of the Week recognition for the third time in the past four weeks.
Wells averaged a team-best 19.5 points per game on 17-of-34 (.500) shooting from the field to go with 4.5 steals, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest during a 2-0 week. She opened the week with a game-high 16 points during a 74-38 home victory against Kean on Feb. 11. She then shot 10-of-18 (.556) from the field for a game-high 23 points, adding six rebounds, three assists and three steals during a 58-46 home victory opposite Rutgers-Camden on Feb. 14.
Jacobs averaged 4.5 steals, 8.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 7.0 points per game. The Mount Laurel, N.J., native finished with five steals, five rebounds, seven points and a game-high eight assists in the home win against Kean. She then posted a team-high four steals and 11 rebounds, adding three assists and seven points in the home victory over the Scarlet Raptors.
Wells, Jacobs and the Pioneers return to action Wednesday, Feb. 18, to close out the regular season at Ramapo with tipoff slated for 5:30 p.m.
