Golf Places Fifth at Inaugural Pioneer Spring Invitational

Results 

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson golf team finished fifth at its inaugural Pioneer Spring Invitational April 10 at the par-70, 6,322-yard Preakness Valley Golf Course – West.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Senior Lorenzo Assante (Montville, N.J./Montville Twp.), junior Gavin Deeken (Waldwick, N.J./Waldwick) and junior Nicholas Petti (Wayne, N.J./Passaic County Tech) each shot rounds of 87 (+17) to tie for 19th place.
  • Junior Rob Egan (Chester, N.Y./Saint Joseph Regional) carded an 88 (+18, 22nd), while junior Luke Fournier (Secaucus, N.J./Secaucus) posted a 99 (+29, 27th).
  • Competing as individuals, junior Cole Harrington scored a 100 (+30, 28th), junior Brandon Bang (Roxbury, N.J./Roxbury) had a 106 (+36, 29th), and junior Michael Romanelli (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Twp.) shot a 119 (+49, 30th).
  • Reid Walker of Rutgers-Camden and Drew's Brian Cotter and Ryan Ricci posted the best rounds of the day (75, +5).
  • Rutgers-Camden won the five-team event with a total of 305 (+25). WP carded a team total of 349 (+69).

  • William Paterson will conclude its spring schedule Tuesday, April 15, at the Conquer the Island Tournament in Shawnee-on-Delaware, Pa.
