Baseball Drops NJAC Tilt at Ramapo

MAHWAH, N.J. – The William Paterson baseball team (16-10, 1-6 NJAC) dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game at Ramapo (19-7, 4-3 NJAC), 9-2, April 10.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Ramapo grabbed an early lead after plating a run in the opening frame.
  • WP evened the score in the top of the second after senior Tom Radigan (Verona, N.J./Verona) singled to right before coming around to score on a two-out double to left center by classmate Connor Luckie (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton High West).
  • The Roadrunners regained the lead with a run in the bottom of the second before tacking on two in the third and five in the sixth to go ahead by eight (9-1).
  • In the ninth, back-to-back walks and a wild pitch put a pair of Pioneers in scoring position to set up sophomore Devin Daproza (Englewood, N.J./Leonia) for an RBI infield single to make it 9-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
  • Sophomore Ty Kobylakiewicz (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) batted 2-for-4.
  • Daproza went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
  • Senior Connor Luckie (Hamilton, N.J./Hamilton High West) and junior Dylan Dantos each recorded a double.
  • Radigan and senior Tyler Ruban (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Twp.) scored a run.
UP NEXT:
  • The Pioneers will host Ramapo Friday, April 11, for a 2:30 p.m. conference game.
