Renee Wells (Leonardo, N.J./Middletown South) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team March 25.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. No student-athlete is eligible until they have completed one full calendar year at their current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Palladino, a public relations major, started 25 of 30 games for the Pioneers and finished second on the team in assists (71) and third in steals (59). The Middletown, N.J., native recorded six double-digit scoring efforts.
Smith started in all 30 games and was the Pioneers' top scorer, averaging 14.0 points per contest while shooting 41 percent (144-of-352) from the field en route to being named to the All-New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Second Team. The elementary education and liberal studies double major drained a team-best 55 shots from long range and led the team in assists (73) while logging 24 double-digit scoring performances.
Walsh started 29 of 30 games, averaging a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game while adding 9.8 points and 1.3 blocks per tilt. The public relations major posted three double-doubles and reached double figures in the scoring column in 15 outings.
Wells, an all-conference selection, was one of two Pioneers to start all 30 games. The history and secondary education double major was second on the team in scoring with 13.7 points per game. She scored in double figures in 23 games, adding 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest. Â
