WAYNE, N.J. – The fourth-seeded William Paterson volleyball team (18-11, 5-3 NJAC) will host fifth-seeded Montclair State (24-5, 5-3 NJAC) Tuesday, Nov. 11, in the quarterfinal round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament at 7:00 p.m. at the Sports and Recreation Center.
TICKET INFORMATION
- Tickets can be purchased in advance HERE.
- Ticket prices are $11.00 for adults; $6.00 for seniors (65+), children (2-12) and students, which includes a $1.00 fee.
- No cash ticket sales will take place at any NJAC Tournament venue. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase electronic tickets on-site via a mobile device, but only if tickets remain available at the attempted time of purchase.
- WP students will be granted free admission with a valid WP ID courtesy of student development and do not need to purchase a ticket. All other students should be prepared to show their university ID at the door if purchasing a student-priced ticket.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
- The winner of the matchup between William Paterson and Montclair State will advance to the semifinals Thursday, Nov. 13, against top-seeded Kean in Union, N.J. Following the semifinals, the highest remaining seed will host the championship game Saturday, Nov. 15, at a time to be determined. The NJAC Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
WP IN THE NJAC TOURNAMENT
- The Pioneers are making their 21st NJAC Tournament appearance and are seeking their fifth tournament title (1982, 1983, 1991, 2024).
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- The defending NJAC Tournament champions enter postseason play with an 18-11 overall record and a 5-3 mark in conference action.
- The Pioneers have won seven of their last nine outings and four of their last five at home.
- Junior Cecilia Miller (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial) leads the Pioneers and ranks eighth in the NJAC with 294 kills (3.16 kills/set) while contributing 157 digs.
- Freshman Riley Elliott (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Oak Ridge) has compiled 278 kills (2.90 kills/set) in her rookie campaign, adding 133 digs and 16 blocks.
- Junior Abby Houpt (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) finished the regular season with a team-best 878 assists (8.87 assists/set), which was good for third in the conference. The Garnet Valley, Pa., native also logged a team-high 51 aces while adding 206 digs and 29 blocks.
- Sophomore Bella Demers (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) posted 533 digs and a conference-best 5.03 digs/set during her first season with the Pioneers. She has reached double-digit digs in 26 of 29 outings.
SCOUTING THE RED HAWKS
- Heading into its final weekend of the regular season, Montclair State owns a 24-5 overall record and 5-3 mark in NJAC play.
- The 24 wins are the most for the program in a single season since finishing 26-9 in 2016.
- Sophomore Camyrn Muuss has paced the Red Hawks with 333 kills (3.30 kills/set) while totaling 227 digs and 37 blocks.
- Sophomore Bryn Bautista has notched 289 kills (2.86 kills/set), 293 digs, 43 aces and 18 blocks.
- Freshman Lucy Cornelius is currently second in the NJAC in assists (911) and tied for second in assists/set (9.11).
- Senior Emma Thatcher has registered a team-best 396 digs (3.88 digs/set) while junior Lily Thomas has posted a team-high 83 total blocks (0.82 blocks/set).
EARLIER THIS SEASON
- The Pioneers opened the NJAC slate with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 26-24) home victory against Montclair State on Sept. 23.
- Elliott recorded a match-high 17 kills, while Demers tallied a match-best 16 digs.
- Houpt finished with a double-double after posting a match-high 38 assists to go with 10 digs and five kills.
