WAYNE, N.J. – The fourth-seeded William Paterson volleyball team (19-11, 5-3 NJAC) heads to Union, N.J., Thursday, Nov. 13, to face off against top-seeded Kean (27-5, 7-1 NJAC) in the semifinals of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Tournament at 7:00 p.m.

- Ticket prices are $11.00 for adults; $6.00 for seniors (65+), children (2-12) and students, which includes a $1.00 fee
- No cash ticket sales will take place at any NJAC Tournament venue. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase electronic tickets on-site via a mobile device, but only if tickets remain available at the attempted time of purchase.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
- The winner of the matchup between William Paterson and Kean will advance to the championship match Saturday, Nov. 15, against the winner of the semifinal round match between second-seeded Rowan and third-seeded Stockton. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game at a time to be determined. The NJAC Tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
WP IN THE NJAC TOURNAMENT
- The Pioneers are making their 21st NJAC Tournament appearance and are seeking their fifth tournament title (1982, 1983, 1991, 2024).
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- The defending NJAC Tournament champions bested fifth-seeded Montclair State, 3-1, at home in the quarterfinals Nov. 11.
- Junior Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay), who was named to the All-NJAC Honorable Mention, paced the Pioneers with a match-high 15 kills to pair with five block assists against Montclair State. She is third on the team in kills (234) and ranks fourth in the NJAC in hitting percentage (.310).
- Junior Cecilia Miller (Virginia Beach, Va./First Colonial), a three-time all-conference honoree, posted a season-high 20 digs to go with nine kills versus the Red Hawks. The Virginia Beach, Va., native leads the Pioneers and ranks ninth in the NJAC with 303 kills (3.12 kills/set) while notching 177 digs.
- Freshman Riley Elliott (El Dorado Hills, Calif./Oak Ridge) had 12 kills opposite Montclair state, adding nine digs. She has compiled 290 kills (2.90 kills/set) during her rookie campaign with 142 digs, 53 aces and 17 blocks.
- Junior Abby Houpt (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) earned her third consecutive all-conference honor, finishing the regular season with a team-best 905 assists (8.79 assists/set). The Garnet Valley, Pa., native also has 217 digs, 53 aces and 29 blocks.
- Sophomore Bella Demers (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee), the NJAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year and an all-conference selection, has an NJAC-best 560 digs and 5.09 digs/set during her first season with the Pioneers. She has reached double-digit digs in 27 of 30 outings.
SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- Kean compiled a 27-5 overall record and 7-1 mark in conference action.
- The Cougars enter postseason play on a 10-game winning streak and have won four straight home matches, with their last loss coming Oct. 11 to Misericordia.
- Senior setter Aspen O'Brien, the NJAC Player of the Year, finished third in the nation in total assists (1,118) and fourth in assists per set (10.55). She additionally contributed 209 digs, 47 aces and 20 block assists.
- Co-NJAC Defensive Player of the Year, Cayley Elena Morrison, finished her junior campaign with 357 kills (3.43 kills/set) and 114 blocks (1.10 blocks/set). She led the NJAC in blocks, blocks per set and hitting percentage (.381) while sitting fifth in kills and sixth in kills per set.
- Freshman Ashley Torok was named to the All-NJAC First Team, totaling a team-high 405 kills (3.75 kills/set) while registering 235 digs and 30 blocks.
EARLIER THIS SEASON
- The Pioneers fell in four sets (25-15, 25-27, 21-25, 26-28) to the Cougars Sept. 30 in Union, N.J.
- Miller logged a team-best 15 kills while Glenn and Elliott chipped in with 13 kills apiece.
- Houpt dished out a match-high 40 assists and added seven digs.
- Demers recorded a team-high 19 digs.
