Volleyball Caps 2024 Regular Season With Home Sweep of Elizabethtown

WAYNE, N.J. – The William Paterson volleyball team (20-9, 7-1 NJAC) closed out its regular season by sweeping Elizabethtown (16-12, 6-3 Landmark) in a non-conference match Nov. 8 at the Sports and Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • WP trailed by four (15-11) in the second set until a 9-3 run put the Pioneers ahead by two (20-18). The two sides continuously traded points and were even at 26-26 until Miller delivered a kill and an attack error by the Blue Jays gave WP the victory.
  • It was a back-and-forth third set and the Pioneers found themselves down by one (25-24) before back-to-back kills by sophomore Kristian Glenn (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) and Miller gave WP the edge. The Blue Jays knotted the score at 26 apiece, but a kill by sophomore Sofia Zablackis (East Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain East) and a service ace by Miller sealed the 28-26 win.
